The main topic of the 8TH MMIF is Engineering Technologies in Medicine — COVID-19 Experience
On December 1 — 2, 2020 in Moscow, President-Hotel (Hotel Complex) located at 24 Bolshaya Yakimanka Street will host the annual 8th Moscow International Engineering Forum (MMIF) traditionally organized by the Moscow Confederation of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (employers) with the support of the Moscow Government and with the involvement of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Russian Academy of Engineering, the Russian Union of Engineers.
The pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus infection COVID-19 has made changes in all spheres of life: it has become a serious test for the social, economic and political stability of states, revealed systemic health problems in many, even the most developed countries.
The Russian Federation faced with the following issues (among other): lack of modern laboratory and diagnostic equipment for the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases; long periods of issuance of permits related to the introduction of medical equipment and medicines; lack of skills of personnel of medical and preventive institutions to work with modern equipment; lack of engineering services in health facilities.
The 8th MMIF will address matters related to the operation of high-tech modern medical equipment in healthcare institutions, provision of engineering personnel of medical institutions, improvement of the system for training of medical personnel in universities (and as part of additional education ), taking into account the need to use high-tech equipment and advanced technologies in medical practice.
At the site of the 8th MMIF, a discussion will be organized with the participation of heads of medical institutions, industrial enterprises, scientific organizations, higher educational institutions, experts in order to develop recommendations aimed at improving the skills of medical workers in terms of engineering and technical competencies, improving the level of engineering support for the activities of medical institutions, creating service companies capable of ensuring the proper functioning of high-tech medical equipment.
The 8th MMIF will be attended by representatives of federal and regional authorities, RSPP, FNPR, heads of medical institutions, regional employers’ associations, university rectors, Russian and foreign companies, representatives of development institutions and public associations.
Considering that MMIF is included in the Plan of measures aimed at improving the prestige of workers and engineering professions, approved by Order of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 366-РП dated March 5, 2015 , the organizers pay special attention to the development of children’s and youth scientific and technical creativity, youth policy in the field of employment, education, projects in the field of vocational guidance and other socially significant initiatives.
Within the framework of the 8th MMIF, an exhibition will take place aiming to the presentation of innovative developments and advanced technologies in the field of medicine and medical equipment, as well as a collective exposition of children’s technology parks and centers for innovative technical creativity.
The program of the 8th IMIF contemplates some thematic round tables on December 1:
